The GSNI gas spring incorporates a strong annealed steel rod with a Nitride coating for corrosion resistance. These struts also use composite 10 mm ball end fitting for additional corrosion resistance . This is for ONE strut. This strut is 12" extended and 8.5" closed, with a 3.5" stroke and has 10 mm ball sockets. Those measurements are from center of ball socket to ball socket. End to end these are 13" open and 9.5" closed These are 40 pounds of force. Commonly used for hatches, covers, lids, doors, rv's campers
